Rebuilding a life after bankruptcy

Dear friends,

My name is Paulina Dorina Sabau, I’m 53 years old and I live near Timisoara, a city in the west of Romania.

This message I am writing is something very unusual to me, but here I am. Life has brought to a state where I have found the courage to write such a message, to have the motivation to open my soul for you and tell you this.

My husband and I started a business (in farming) and we put all that we had into it. For years we worked relentlessly and passionately and we built a business that was growing when, one day the Divine Comedy kicked in and, in some surreal circumstances we found ourselves (and our employees) in front of a closed door. Behind it was everything we built for so long, all our business with tools, goods. We no longer had access to anything and we were left with hundreds of thousands of euros in loans and mortgages.

What followed was a couple of years of confusion, several attempts to start all over again from scratch and endless law suits to try and get back at least some of the assets (mainly the tools from the farm) to get the business working again. We won most of the law suits after some years but we couldn’t get back what was ours as all our assets disappeared without a trace.

With time, my husband and I ended up accepting this situation and in order to cope with the increasing psychological and financial pressure, we both found jobs at regular companies, to find some sense of stability.

Why am I telling you all this? It’s because all the credits we had when our business was working are still there, left to be paid, almost 350 000 euros now. Our family earnings sum up to around 1200 euros per month, which only allows us to pay back some of the small credits and loans we had but not the most important one.

Both our home and my husband’s parents’ home have a mortgage on them and since we have failed to pay back the loan until now, both houses are put on sale by the bank. Therefore, an important amount of money is needed to cover all this and this is why I am here writing this, asking those of you who could spare a little of their earnings and if they wish to share a little with us.

I do not wish this message to be a dramatic and helpless one. During all these years, I have reached to a certain state of detaching and maturity regarding this situation, a sort of acceptance of all that is happening. I do not wish to drag you into a state of sorrow and weakness.

I only wish to appeal to the unity, friendship, wisdom and generosity of the Soul that is in each and every one of us and through which we are “ All for one and one for all’.

This is what I believe and what I fell while writing this and I write to those of you that feel the same. Together we can truly make the world a beautiful place, we can support one another and allow us to truly live our dreams, Here and Now.

I thank all of you for your help and I invite each and every one of you, one by one, for a couple of days to my beautiful home and country, to know you and thank you in person for your help.

I thank you all who feel the same and who understand this and to those who don’t, I apologize if this message upsets you.
