My name is Tshepo Ledwaba. I am a film producing student in my 3rd year at the AFDA - School of film, television and live performance, based in Johannesburg. As students we have been tasked to shoot a short film that will be screened at Cinema Nouveau in Rosebank, organised by the school. Luckily for us this term, the school said we can get sponsors that can fund our film in various ways.
We are looking for various ways to get funding for our film but we know that companies do not give away/donate money, as well as sponsorships if they do not benefit from the transaction. This is why I am approaching the world/community for any donations they would like to offer. My crew consists of highly skilled members that are creatively inclined and have worked on multiple projects in and out of AFDA, so they are more than qualified to execute this project, all we need is funding. We are allowed to use the school’s equipment and school’s facilities in order to complete the project so it will definitely not be of bad quality.
As students we cannot compensate with much but to add your brand name, logo or your full name on our film credits as a form of appreciation; may it be at the end of the film as it would be screened at the Rosebank cinema. The film genre is a horror based on the mythical but yet not so mythical creature known as the tokoloshe. This story could pull a lot of attention within the South African market seeing that our industry is only known for making romantic or comedy films. We want to tell different stories, fictional and non-fictional, and add some diversity in terms of the good films that can be found in South Africa. As you can see we have a lot faith in our production; this is because the film currently has the same hype/ intensive publicity in the school as “Hanslammers” which was a film that travelled to other countries and got nominations in some festivals around South Africa. This was a successful horror film that came out of AFDA.
For any information, please contact me on my email address- [email protected] or my cell phone number: 065 889 7002. We hope that we can count on your help to make our film the best production.
Your donations are highly appreciated.
