Realize our American Dream

This was my lightbulb moment when brainstorming as to how we can try and realize our dream of being reunited with Family. That age old saying “ If you don’t try then you won’t ever know” and maybe just maybe someone will read our story and be able to help or the very least offer advice or knowledge or anything really.

My sister and nephew and nieces live in Nashville TN and we have only seen each other once in 3years ( I travelled with my baby and daughter to make the trip). We are an Irish expat family living in the Netherlands and want desperately to go to the US to make our home there and live and work and contribute. Being nearer would allow my children to grow up with their family and support nearby and like many people our family is everything to us and leaving them was probably harder than when they left for the US as we don’t know when we will see them physically again. We have lived in the Netherlands for 3 years now and as much as I like it here the trip to the US really hit home with how friendly and nice everyone is and there ARE jobs to get once your there it’s just that hurdle of getting there that we are stuck on. My husband has a professional career but is not university educated which is where we seem to have hit a stumbling block. He has experience as do I in a professional environment ( currently I am a stay at home mom but want to go back to work once my baby is old enough) but we can’t afford to move and support ourselves without a job nor would we get a visa ( is my understanding ) I think most people can relate to this. I wondered and hoped if anyone could help us with advice / suggestions / support anything offered is always greatly received and might be someone who can help and It’s just someone we don’t know yet ! You always hear of those unlikely stories I hoped maybe we can be one of them xx
