Realising a dream

Hi my name is Sarah and my dream is to travel .... this is nothing remarkable you may think until you hear my story which i will keep brief.

I spent a great deal of my life suffering with panic disorder, agoraphobia and subsequent depression and chronic fatigue syndrome from the years of accumulated stress of living with such a condition.

Despite this i have always managed to hold down a full time job and i have never claimed benefits - everything i have achieved in life has been through sheer determination and tenacity. I have worked hard to understand and manage my difficulties and I now enable others to do the same.

As a single working person I was never entitled to tax breaks, funding for study or other such benefits - I have had to access personal loans to continue the study that i missed when i was younger and not able to function at school. I now hold a 1st class honours degree and post graduate qualifications in psychological therapies

I am currently employed by the NHS to offer therapy to individuals suffering with anxiety and depression - It was my dream not only to free of these life limiting conditions myself but also to educate others so they don't have to experience them - everyone should be free to live a full life....

And on that note - i will get to the point - 18 months ago I finally secured a job which would allow me to realise a life long dream to travel, see the world and catch up on the lost time from my younger years.

After spending many years driving around in beat up cars i was recently able to finance a van that would help me to live my dream. However, literally one week later we were notified that our projects funding would not be renewed - i now face redundancy for the 2nd time in 4yrs.

In 5 yrs time I would have cleared all my accumulated debt and had planned to reduce my hours to work part time - I am 51 years old and my future after 26 years of supporting others is now uncertain.
