We believe in changing our community through education.

Educating our youth will give them hope for the future and it will uplift our communities and country as a whole.

As we look to the future we want to set our focus on Science, Robotics and Mathematics. Many of our youth are being discourage to take Mathematics due to poor performance. Through tutoring and mentorship, we want to encourage students not leave mathematics. The focus is to make it real to them, to make relevant in their lives today and also in their future.

We believe that through Robotics and Coding we can achieve these goals.

We are looking to partner with a local company to bring Robotics and Coding closer to our students. We have the facilities and resources that will enable us to reach more students and we are working on closer ties with our schools to take these opportunities into our school. Our partner company will give us the educational materials and resources to training our youth and take forward into the future.

Reward

Our aim is to offer workshops free of charge to certain students, where we can see a need. Therefore, as part of this campaign we offer a scholarship for 1 student for each R5,000 raised, this will mean that for 1 term 1 student will be introduced to Robotics and Coding free of charge. This will show them the possibilities and what opportunities there are if they are committed to work hard. This campaign will give scholarships to 40 students and training opportunities to many more.

A full report will be provided to each contributor about the students who received a scholarship.

About me

I am Roger Kordom (39) and I grew up in Belhar, Western Cape, South Africa. Growing up was tough, although we didn't have much, my parents worked hard to get us through school. There wasn't much to send us to study after school and this meant prospects for the future was small.

After school I was selling lunches at office buildings in our local area. Humble beginnings with very little options available, however we heard of a company where free computer programming courses were offered. I applied and was offered a place, and this opportunity changed my life completely.

This opportunity saw me getting work at one of the largest financial companies in South Africa, with expansions happening internationally. Within 3 years I received the opportunity to work abroad and was working and living in the United Kingdom for 12 years. It was here that I met my wife, who also ignited my passion for education and where my daugther was born.

We returned to South Africa in 2017 and after a few years open our first tutoring franchise in Brackenfell. We are now working on opening a second business. Our passion for education and our students are pushing us forward. This comes with much sacrifice but seeing our students' progress make it all worthwhile.

We can see the funds raised here expanding our footprint in our local community, reaching more students and making a difference to many more.
