Following the recent Presidential address to the nation, Rand Club has had to lock down our club house until the end of April. Over the last year, the Club has undergone radical improvements in management, food and beverage service, events and various renovation projects. The Club has become a hub of activity within the Johannesburg CBD, yet we find ourselves having to cease our operations for the foreseeable future.
We recently appointed a wonderful team of eight young staff members to work in our food and beverage operation, and to serve at Club and external events. Sadly, their income is now at risk.
Despite the closure, we have managed to pay all of our staff their basic salaries and have committed to paying everyone until the end of April. However, the impact of the closure has resulted in the team losing tips and commissions.
After reopening, the Club will take time to get back to 'normal' and we foresee several months of diminished income for the team, possibly resulting in several job losses.
This campaign has been set up to assist the Rand Club team to continue to receive their wages through this lock-down period and the recovery months.
We are also setting up pre-paid vouchers for the restaurant, bar and accommodation should you wish to visit the Club in the future. Please email [email protected] to enquire about vouchers.
