I plan to start a small farm business in my home country of Kenya, to be named 'Chakula Asili Enterprises.' 'Chakula Asili' means 'natural food' in Swahili language. The aim of the business is to produce healthy and affordable produce for the local market. The farm will be located on the outskirts of Kwale Town on an acquired land near Mtsamviani Rural Centre along the Kwale - Nadavaya -Kinango Road in Kwale county, near to Mombasa. Since I was raised in a farming family in this area, I have knowledge and experience of local farming practices. I left many years ago for a job handling cargo in the Gulf, but now I want to return home where I can give something back to my community.

According to my plan, the farm will start with producing fruits, vegetables, and grain. It will be able to respond to the demands of the local market, growing a variety of produce including (as needed): banana, tomatoes, pineapple, passion fruit, ocra, onions, eggplant, simlaw, cassava, pepper beans, and peas. Once the business is established, it may include small scale, sustainable poultry and livestock raising.
