WHO ARE WE?

Hello everybody! My name is Ilya Obretetskiy and for the last few years I have been working together with White Crescent Org in Yemen, supporting the running of fundraisers to help the people of the country going through a severe humanitarian catastrophe.

This upcoming Ramadan, we are aiming to raise money for White Crescent to provide them with the resources to distribute food parcels, Iftar Meals, drinking water as well as EID Gifts for the most disadvantaged Yemeni families and their children.

The food parcels will support the families throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The food parcels include items such as flour, rice, sugar, oil and legumes.

FACTS ABOUT YEMEN

As many of you know already, Yemen is going through the worst humanitarian crisis the world has known in modern times, with more than 80% of the population dependent on humanitarian aid and support. Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis live in famine-like conditions, while millions of other are on the brink of going through the same circumstances. 400,000 of Yemeni children are suffering from acute malnutrition and it is estimated that 24 million Yemenis suffer are experiencing severe food insecurity. These shocking conditions have put almost two thirds of the population of Yemen wondering where their next meal is coming from.

RAMADAN 2023

This year, we ask you to do just three simple things:

“PRAY, GIVE AND EMPOWER”

Together, let us pray for the displaced and most disadvantaged Yemeni families. Together, let us give to provide food for those families. Ang together, let us empower families and communities through supporting them with essential life needs.

With Ramadan fast approaching, maximize your rewards and feed the needy with their Ramadan essentials early.

Let’s come together this Ramadan and donate as much as we can! Every little counts whether you are able to donate £1, £10,or £100! All the money donated will go directly to Yemen and to supporting the families in need (All of the transfer fees are covered by our team members).

WHERE DO YOU DONATIONS GO?

£2 – Provides one Iftar Meal which can feed an entire family for a day.

£15 – Provides clean water for tens of families.

£20 – Provides an EID Gift such as new clothes for a child.

£50 – Provides a food parcel which can feed an entire family for a month.

Ilya Obretetskiy (UK Representative)

Ilya grew up in Volgograd, Russia before moving to the UK at the age of 10. After graduating school, he made the decision to go to Florida State University to study International Affairs and Political Science. Shortly after graduating, Ilya met Haitham online which is when they began working together on their first fundraising campaign for Yemen. Ilya currently works in the Public Relations and Public Affairs sector in London while also helping with the day-to-day running of our fundraisers. His role primarily includes the setting up and upkeep of the fundraisers as well as being responsible for making sure that all of the donations reach the WCFYE team.

I am very proud to be part of this team who inspire me everyday by their amazing commitment to help people in dire need. One of my biggest motivations in becoming a part of this project is the assurance that all of the money goes directly from the donors to the Yemeni people, which is something that is difficult to find amongst the bigger international charities. Finally, I would like to thank all of our donors for their generosity.
