The doctor mentioned that this condition was triggered because of stress, from the impact of the accident.

A hernia occurs when an internal part of the body pushes through a weakness in the muscle or surrounding tissue wall. He underwent keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery – this is a less invasive, but more difficult, technique where several smaller cuts are made, allowing the surgeon to use various special instruments to repair the hernia (NHS.uk).Strangulation of the hernia, if severe enough, can lead to tissue death and infection. (Zocdoc.com)

The doctor said that if Ralph wasn't immediately rushed to the hospital, the condition may cause death.

Fortunately, Ralph's operation of Hernia was successful. Currently, he stays at home while waiting for the funds to be completed for another operation. We hope that funds will be completed as soon as possible so he will neither be paralyzed nor comatosed.
