Tropical Cyclone Winston has battered Fiji causing widespread damage. The category five cyclone is one of the most powerful ever recorded in the Southern Hemisphere with wind gusts over 300 kilometres per hour.
Houses have been blown away, roads washed out, cars and small aircraft lifted into trees and buildings and the death toll has risen to 21...
Reports state “We know from experience that a massive storm of this type will have caused extensive destruction. Roads and houses have been damaged and water supplies are likely to have been disrupted and contaminated. In this type of emergency, it really is a race against time to get immediate relief to those who have lost everything and ensure families can stay safe and healthy.”
Please help me raise money for the communities and families affected by cyclone Winston. Even the smallest contribution makes a difference, e.g. not buying a coffee, new top or game and instead donating that $10-$40 directly to families/ communities who lost everything.
I had plans to volunteer in Fiji, Latouka in the Health Clinic as a dietitian form last Sunday but unfortunately my plans changed due to Cyclone Winston. I will now be heading over on Friday to instead do whatever I can to help the communities.
