Raising funds for my Mom’s cancer treatment

Hello everyone, my name is Aurelio Manuel Dela Cruz. The eldest son, the breadwinner of the family and also a loving son to my kind and amazing mother who is Sonia M. Dela Cruz.

My mom, 59 years old, thoughtful and supportive throughout the years who's passion and hobby is mainly cooking and baking has been going through a difficult time at the start of 2022.

Currently my Mom is battling a type of Cancer called Adenocarcinoma (Stage 4 - Stomach) which has metastasize to the Liver, Lungs and Esophagus. As someone who has been health conscious, she was thrown a curve ball with a Cancer located in the stomach. It took almost 2 months of hospitalization because the test and examinations proved too difficult to identify what type of cancer is coursing through my Mom's body. Another reason why we could not have her go through endoscopy as early as last year was due to Covid. Most hospitals have dedicated there resources to treating Covid patients and also having the fear of catching the virus itself due to my Mom's age.

In that span of time my Mom has gone through dozens of trials and hurdles from Abdominal Pain, Intubation where her oxygen levels drop to below normal at one point, Blood Infection and Stent Surgery. She's also having a difficult time trying to eat or drink properly because the cancer has metastasize towards her esophagus where most of the food we eat and drink slides down to our intestine.

My mom who is also only human has been enduring the mental and emotional journey she's been going through and sometimes questions the trials and tribulations she has to endure.

Despite the ordeal she still remains positive and hopeful each and everyday with the support of her family, friends and relatives.

As the eldest son and sole provider, I'm here today knocking on your kind hearts asking for some financial help in dealing with a difficult time. We have already spent almost 700k in expenses just in hospitalization, medicine and treatment alone. The Chemotherapy required for her will cost around 50k - 70k, excluding the medicines she also needs to take.

During the most challenging time we are appealing for your help no matter how small it may be. I promised my Mom that she will make it through this difficult time and that I will exhaust all of my resources to ensure she lives long enough to have a fulfilling and happy life. Long enough she grows old with my Dad, long enough she can still spend more Christmas and Birthdays with the whole family and long enough to feel the joy of being able cook and bake again.

My parents are my greatest treasures.
