Update, April 25 of 2020:

My brother-in-law is still in the hospital. Though out of the ICU because his wife decided to ask the doctor if they can be transferred to a regular room because medicine and other costs in the ICU is costly. Now their bill is more or less at 700k, and they are now under Red Tag. His tumor has grown rapidly, blocking the airways more and pushing on to his heart further. His weight has drastically gone down. He’s still on respirator. We don’t know how else we could pay the hospital bill. He’s also developed general anxiety which causes his constant panic attacks.

As of March 29: I have added an updated bill, and their picture during good times.

Hello,

My name is Roselynn and I am from Marikina City. I am setting this up for my brother-in-law, and very good friend for 3 decades now.

He is 40 years old and was brought to The Lung Center of the Philippines last year because of a tumor found through CTSCAN as well as fluid in his lungs that needed to be drained as soon as possible. One part of his lungs has already collapsed. He stayed there for a little over 2 weeks and was sent home with multiple medications to be taken for 6 months plus.

On March 18, my sister was asking for help to bring his husband to the hospital due to difficulty breathing despite being on oxygen. That was the start of the "enhanced community quarantine" in Metro Manila and Luzon, which made is harder for us to bring him to any hospital. I called 911 and they also tried to call our local city's rescue line but all emergency vehicles are deployed.

He was eventually brought to a private hospital, but when they declared he is a PUI, the pushed them away to be transferred to another hospital, at their own expense. They hailed a tricycle to go to Marikina Valley Medical Center where he was given prompt emergency care. He was put under triage, and was informed he needs confinement.

On March 19, my sister informed us that the CTSCAN result showed that his tumor, which the doctor from the hospital last year said was benign, grew 1/3 in size. It was squeezing both his lungs and pushing into his heart, thus, his difficulty in breathing and raised blood pressure and heart rate. 3 of the doctors advised him that he needs to be put in ICU immediately but he was refusing due to lack of funds. That evening, he finally agreed and was under close monitoring. When he was checked yesterday morning, the doctor said his eyes showed signs of stroke. They ordered another scan to rule out if the tumor has spread to his brain at this moment.

I am setting this up because we have no capability to pay for all his medical bills and expenses that has a running amount as of yesterday, March 24, of about almost Php400,000 (recent photo added), which only have has been paid, and the other half still remains unpaid. Despite help pouring in, the daily medicines needed is costly that even if my sister pays the donations sent directly to their bank account, always just pays half of the bill.
Both my sister and her husband does not have health insurance nor a health card, which makes this situation more complicated. I do not have the means to cover their bills as well, so I thought of putting up this fund raiser to help ease their burden, especially during this time of global crisis. Very untimely, indeed.
He still needs to stay in the ICU until he becomes stable enough to have biopsy done of his tumor to determine what is the underlying cause and main reason for his illness, and then that is the only time that right medications and treatment can be done.

I am knocking on your kinds hearts, if you have any amount to spare, to donate for my brother-in-law's medical needs, and help save his life.

I am thanking all of you in advance, on behalf of my sister and her husband, and their 5-year old son. Your sincere prayers are most welcome, too. I will be editing this from time-to-time, to update those who are following this cause. I sincerely thank everyone who have given their time to read this, and also extended their help during this trying time in our family.

Alternatively, in case you do not have a PayPal account and/or credit card to use for the donation, and you have access to online/mobile banking, you may send the amount directly to my brother-in-law's Philippine bank account.
