The goal of this campaign is to raise funds for a "Live In Concert DVD/CD" featuring a 20 piece Orchestra and band performing my music live in the nations capital. Your donation of $5.00 or more will be appreciated. Special rewards for donations over $20.00
About Me My name is Mbandi and I was born and raised in Cameroon, West Africa. I was born with a talent for composing music; however, pianos and musical instruments were very scarce in Cameroon. As you can imagine, Cameroon is a very poor country; music education is non-existent in high schools and universities. Also, those who pursue music as a profession are considered lazy and somewhat academically challenged. I know that's hard to believe but it is true. Don't get me wrong, Cameroonians love music but sadly, most do not believe music has a place in formal education.
Coming To America Coming to America at the age of 15 changed my life immensly because it allowed me to express my passion for music without reservation; not just because I had more access to instruments but also because America (compared to my country) promotes individuality and self expression. Also this is one of the few countries where with hard work, passion, and determination, any dream can become a reality.
Why I Am Asking For Donations The reality of the world we live in today is that most people expect to get music for free. Established musicians are still able to sustain their careers through numerous live performance; however, independent musicians like my self still depend CD sales to keep our heads above water. As a result, we need help and what better place to ask for help than the people who love our work.
What will I Do With The Money I am asking you to partner with me (by making a donation) to put together a live in concert DVD which will be used to further promote and spread the word about my music. As a little token of my appreciation, you will get rewards such as free CDs and concert tickets. You can donate as little as $5.00 or as much as you can afford; all donations will be appreciated
