Raising funds for an upper primary school in Bonga, Ethiopia

Hi there! In a few weeks (precisely between 29 April and 5 May 2022), we will be joining a group of Maltese friends and we will be walking the Camino De Santiago on behalf of the SIGMA Foundation (https://sigma.world/sigma-foundation/) in order to support their children’s educational projects in Ethiopia.

All funds raised will be used to facilitate the building of an upper primary school in Bonga.

The school will be inaugurated in the memory of Rebecca Zammit Lupi who passed away at the tender age of 15. Rebecca was inspirational to so many people through her resilience and courage in the face of impossible odds, and the way she campaigned for access to education, as well as other issues, while she was ill was truly remarkable.

In Rebecca’s memory the school will be named ‘The Becs Zammit Lupi Junior Secondary School’ or ‘The Rebecca Zammit Lupi Junior Secondary School’.
