Raising Baby on a Benefit

Hi! My name is Rhiana, and my husband Ciaran and I got married on 17/01/2016. We were both 21 years old. On honeymoon, the following week, we got pregnant- the test came up positive on the 29th of February.

When we started trying for the baby, I had a job lined up, but due to budget cuts I lost that job in the first two weeks of February. Now I am unemployed and pregnant, and looking at a very low chance of gaining employment until after my baby is born. My husband is studying 4th year biology this year, and hopes to start working in the second semester when he only has three papers. I have just finished a bachelor's degree, and have been looking for a job since I lost mine.

Our families, while offering their help and support, are very worried about our ability to support ourselves. I believe that we have what it takes to succeed in this, but we may need a little help.
