Help to raise funds to cover multiple symptomatic cavernous malformation medical expenses

My name is Oj Mina.

I am 36 years old. I had been a banker for 14 years, and have shifted to financial advising for the past 2. Other than my current part time work, I too am a father of a 3 year old boy, a son to a loving couple who are married for 37 years, a brother to 2 sisters, and a friend to many. My life is definitely filled with cheer and love. Yet I also am a person with a debilitating condition.

Each day I experience mini strokes and seizures. There is chronic bleeding in my brain. I have a weakness of my right side, experience numbness in my limbs, have migraines, and balance problems. I too have diabetes. These symptoms are attributed to what doctors call Symptomatic Multiple CCM (Cerebral Cavernous Malformation) or Cavernous Angioma, a condition due to dilated blood vessels in the brain.

It is a strange, rare, and lifelong disease that has definitely caught me off guard. After discovering I had it, I needed to make major lifestyle changes to ease its physical burdens. I was forced to quit my full time job. And though I found an easier source of income, my constant trips to the hospital, regular tests and costly procedures (ranging anywhere between PHP 30,000 to 50,000 per request), and medication (averaging PHP 1,500 daily) have made work difficult to pursue.

All the costs have taken a major toll on my finances, which is why I have resorted to reaching out to generous donors online. Any contribution would definitely go a long way in easing the mounting expenses.

I have established a support group called, Angioma Alliance Philippines. Any contribution you make, 20% will be shared amongst its members should they be needing financial assistance.
