Rainbow of Knowledge Fund

Curcubeul Cunoasterii - translated as "Rainbow of Knowledge" is a not-for-profit association in the small city of Medgidia, in the Constanta region of Romania. The group was started four years ago to benefit children between 2 and 14 years of age who have trouble integrating in daily school activities, due to diverse issues, from autism, to ADHD, to behaviour problems due to their challenging social situations. The center can accommodate up to 60 children from underprivileged families in the area, mostly from the rural zones, and offers subsidized services ranging from psychosocial treatment, to individual and group counselling, family therapy sessions, to after-school homework help. Every year the center runs a deficit of around ~$5,000 and the program survives only with the help of generous donors, as even the subsidized service costs are too high for some of the families in most need of these services! A full month of treatment and after school care for one child (consisting of 4 hours a day, 5-days a week) costs only $100.
