Rahjanni & John’s $20,000 Journey to Concieve

Love, marriage, children! That's the way my husband John and I expected things to go. We fell in love, got engaged, and married in the courthouse while we planned the wedding of our dreams, all the while talking about the perfect time to have children- immediately after the wedding. We thought we had that much control over our lives (lol). We had already been faced with such tragedy (both being widowed before the age of 30) and felt nothing else could go wrong, but life is full of opportunities to overcome.

We are foster parents to beautiful children, have four great dogs and are leaders of the young adults ministry at our church, but it does not satisfy. More than anything we want a child of our own. Our hope for getting pregnant at our “perfect time” was met by a reality we were not prepared for. Outside of a miracle, natural conception would not be possible for us. If we were going to have a child of our own, we would have to go through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

Being active duty in the military provides exceptional healthcare, but does not cover the cost of fertility testing, treatment, and associated procedures, both John and I will have to go through. IVF is extremely expensive and we just do not have the means to pay for this unexpected expense to grow our family. We have dedicated our lives to helping as many people as we can, but now we are asking for your help.
