Rachelle’s fight against cancer

Rachelle Barioli is a mother of two beautiful young children, Mirko (11) and Clarissa (9). She is very religious and puts her faith in God. Rachelle has a very positive and bubbly personality and outlook on life. She loves her family and friends abundantly and puts immense effort into staying in touch and socializing with her dearest.

In 2014, Rachelle was diagnosed with HER2 + aggressive Stage 3 breast cancer. She had a mastectomy, reconstructive surgery with the flap procedure, radiation as well as chemotherapy. She also had an ovariectomy and took hormone blockers. Rachelle ‘BEATS’ cancer!

On Sunday, 6th December 2020 Rachelle realized that she had a small dent in her reconstructed breast. She made an appointment with her surgeon for the 9th of December 2020. An ultrasound was performed, which resulted in a biopsy. On 10 December, Rachelle got that dreaded call! She was informed that her Cancer had returned and that a malignant tumour was discovered. After six years Rachelle has to start her fight against cancer all over again. Rachelle will have a mastectomy and reconstructive operation again.

She does have medical aid, but unfortunately, it will not cover all of her medical expenses. Rachelle’s Doctors and Surgeons do not charge medical aid rates, and although she has GAP cover, it too may only pay any shortfalls up to a certain amount, once a claim is submitted after the fact. Any insurances that Rachelle has paid out on her 1st diagnosis, and won't pay a second claim for the same type of Cancer. These insurances don't have a relapse benefit.

Please help Rachelle in her fight against cancer in order for her not to have to stress about the financial costs, so that she can focus completely on the healing process.
