Racheil Alexis Liver Transplant

Racheil Alexis Tilos Kilapkilap is turning 1 year old this month and was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia at the age of 2months. Right after the diagnosis, Kasai Procedure, a surgery operation in which bypasses the liver directly to the instestine, was done.

This procedure is a primary step in prolonging the function of the liver preventing it to scar more together with the medications prescribe by the doctor to maintain until recently.

After few months of going back and forth to the hospital, the specialist advises us to proceed for a liver transplant. In preparation for the transplant, she is to see another doctor at PGH Manila, where the assessments are to be done if the patient is capable of such operation. If so, the patient would be sent to India, the cheapest country to perform the Liver transplant operation which costs 1000000 PHP for the operation alone.
