Race for Life 2013

Hi everyone. On Sunday 21st July I'll be taking part in the annual Race for Life for Cancer Research in Birmingham's Cannon Hill Park. I'm doing this in memory of my late grandfather who passed away from lung cancer - one of the cancers which still has a terrible prognosis and could do with a lot more research to develop treatments for it, if not a cure. I've only done one sporting fundraiser before - for Comic Relief in 2012 and that was just 1 mile, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to be absolutely knackered by the time I've done 5k. So please make my tired muscles, inevitable stitch and shortness of breath worthwhile by donating as much as you can.  

UPDATE: Race was run and I'm still alive, and weirdly nowhere near as knackered as I thought I would be. I'm now the proud owner of a Race for Life medal (as you can see in my sideways pic) Thanks so much to everyone who donated, that money will do a world of good for people in the present and future who fight cancer.  The page is staying up until the end of the month, so if anyone would like to chip in a congratulatory penny or two, you can still do so.
