Queer Science Fiction Exhibition

We are the Aliens of the Art World!

We're a queer collective of aliens who make out of this world art & performance, working across several mediums. Our collective consists of painters, illustrators, performance artists, sculptures, prop & set makers, costume designs, poets and filmmaker.

We’re on a mission to create our own home planet, our own galaxy, our own new constellations crammed into one room - specifically Centrespace Gallery in Bristol from 29th March - 5th April 2018.

We aim to create a space that explores the queer identity and all its individual experiences. While there are opportunities for queer art and artists in the mainstream art world we believe that it can be difficult to approach ideas of queer identity in conventional spaces as it feels like it becomes visible not as an authentic comment on one artist’s experience but as a fetishized other.

By creating our own space we hope to facilitate artistic expression where both the artist and the person can be valued and validated and allow artists control over how their work is presented and experienced. By bringing these artists together, we can bring individual voices into a complex and nuanced chorus of queer voices.

Your support would go towards an exciting opportunity for the artists on board, the LGBTQ+ community and its allies that is much needed in the Bristol Community.
We are raising money initially to pay the hire charge for the space. Any money raised over that amount will go to marketing and materials costs.
