Hi everybody!!!
We are the first-ever queer football team in Armenia and this is a historic opportunity for us and we need your support!
We are Queer League Armenia Initiative and we are coming with great news! Our dream came true!!!! Queer League Armenia football team formed from LBQ women & girls has been recently invited by Queer Olympix to take part in an international tournament in Istanbul and we are really excited to take part in our first ever international match.
Yet, we may need your support to make our dream come true!
Who we are?
Queer League Armenia was founded in 2017 by a group of queer enthusiasts who wanted to bring sports, healthy lifestyle and Armenian LGBTQ+ community together to empower each other and develop our capacity through physical recreation in a non-bar setting.
Currently, Queer League Armenia is one of the most successful queer initiatives in Armenia which organized more than 20 events bringing together more than 65 participants from Armenian LBQ+ community and Trans men.
Our dream was to build up a Football team formed from LBQ+ girls and women & Trans men and make it competitive enough to play on an international level. And yes, we did it!!!!
Our dream came true and as a result of our big efforts, some of our talented people formed the Queer League Armenia team and right now we exercise on a regular basis with a professional coach.
Why we need your help?
Recently, we have been invited by Queer Olympix, international queer tournament to take part in an international football match in Istanbul and we are really excited to take part in it. This will be a great opportunity for us to meet other teams outside Armenia, make connections and build stronger networks, compete, empower each other & queer football as much as we can!
And we need YOUR support to ensure safe transportation and visa costs for our wonderful queer team!
To make the dream come true the organizers will cover the costs for housing and meals. But we need to take care of our own transportation and visa costs. As a full team of at least 7 players and a coach, we may need more funds and financial support to arrive there. Only 115 USD is needed to cover the transportation and visa costs of one team member!
