Put Smiles on Juliana

OUR STORY……OUR BELIEF…. We always been motivated by an idea of believing that every individual need love, care and support.

History

Juliana is a 10-years-old girl lives in Zuzu ward, Dodoma district, in a cherishing home with her mother who is assisted by her parents and her younger siblings. Juliana has a major disability disorder caused by a Hydrocephalus (water in the brain) that has caused her not be able to see and walk. This problem started at the age of seven (7) months, where by her mother noticed some abnormality in her. She received treatment for the first time at the Muhimbili hospital when she was at the age of two (2) years old, whereby they placed a thin tube (shunt) in the brain that helps to remove fluid and direct to the other part of the body.

Problem

Since then Juliana has never returned to the hospital for further treatment includes changing of a thin tube (shunt), which normally supposed to be changed after 12 months (1year), This is extremely dangerous to her health, Since the longer stay of the tube in the brain cause bacterial infection which affects the brain nerves also damage to the eyes nerves and finally cause optical disorders. Juliana faced that challenge of optical disorder since she is inactive to see anything. Urgent treatment is needed to help solve this problem before it’s too late. The source of failure to achieve her treatment

• First, the father left and abandoned the family also he destroyed all the hospital documents

• The extreme poverty that leads to fail to afford the treatment cost and even transports fare to the hospital
