Experience a 2D Puzzle-Platformer like no other as you Clone your way to success and help the sentient Algae explore their world in a bid to escape!
- Munch through over 40 levels to unlock the next brain-bending challenge. Every piece of food eaten will lead you closer to glory and forward towards a larger world...
- Solve puzzles by duplicating your Algae and moving them independently towards their goal. Save as many Algae as you can, or simply leave them behind to fend for themselves...
- Each Algae can be morphed into a number of tools to solve increasingly challenging puzzles...
Hone your skills across over 40 fiendish levels and unlock a further 40 challenges to really put your eating, cloning and morphing to the test! We're looking to release Algae on the PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch at about mid-2019.
Algae is about a sentient Algae searching for it's place in the world. Along the way you'll have to clone these adorable photosynthetic lifeforms and morph them into useful tools to solve mind-bending puzzles.
Use all of your problem solving skills to find food to eat and unlock more clones and morphs to solve future levels. As Algae continues on it's journey they will invariably grow in size... can you guide Algae to it's true place in the world?
One of the core mechanics of Algae is the ability to clone each Algae multiple times in order to reach the exit. Not all of the clones will survive, and some may have to be left behind to fend for themselves...
Spearheaded by two seasoned developers called Dave, Purple
Kingdom Games want to take players on a journey that taxes their mind
and pulls at their heart strings. We're used to dealing with tight
deadlines and delivering the impossible, and now we need your help to
release our debut game!
We have spent hours crunching numbers to make sure we know exactly what gets spent and where, the results of which are below:
We have contingency in place so that if anything goes wrong we have a little breathing
room to fix it (see Risks and Challenges later). We also have a modest
marketing budget in place as well, to ensure that when we release Algae,
we can tell the world! Services covers the day-to-day running of the business (website hosting, communications, licenses, that kind of thing).
By pledging to this project, you acknowledge that the final look, materials and content of the rewards (and the project) are subject to change and may differ substantially from what is presented while the GoGetFunding project was active. All dates advised are aspirational and non-binding . If you do not log in and confirm your pledge within 8 weeks of our notification via email to confirm your pledge, you agree that we have fulfilled our obligations to you in full for payment or donations received. However, we may, at our discretion, refund or ship your pledge, in whole or part, if you contact us and confirm your pledge after the 8 week window has elapsed. Unconfirmed pledges make it difficult for us to plan production and logistics, and in the past have led to project delays. For this project we do not intend to allow this to happen, which may mean if you confirm your pledge too late, certain items may not be produced in sufficient quantity for your pledge. If you confirm your pledge within 8 weeks of our notification via email, you agree that our responsibility to you is to ship your order as entered into our pledge manager system, that title and risk passes to you upon delivery to a common carrier for such shipment, and you are responsible for import duties or any other duties that may be payable to the relevant tax authorities, providing correct address information and ensuring this address is deliverable by normal methods. We regret we are unable to ship to PO Boxes. If you do not accept these terms, please do not pledge on this project but instead wait for the general release.
Every member of the team is highly skilled in their craft, having years of experience in and around the field of games. But this is our first commercial game together and this does of course carry risk.
The biggest risk, of course, is that we don't complete the project. We've done our absolute best to make sure this doesn't happen including, but not limited to, ensuring all budgets are correct; having a solid contingency budget; regular milestones; and constant communication.
We appreciate that shipping to multiple platforms carries a lot of additional challenges, and this has been reflected in the budget to reduce the risk to the completion of the project.
If we don't reach our funding goal, don't worry! We'll still complete Algae, but it will fall behind our estimated release date of mid-2019. How far behind of course depends entirely on how much we raise, but we'll keep you posted every step of the way.
