Puppy Block (AWSS)

Over 35 puppies pass through the doors of our shelter every month - it is an undeniable fact that pet over-population due to rampant, uncontrolled breeding is a chronic, serious issue evident throughout Stellenbosch and particularly acute in the impoverished communities. We cannot stand the thought of turning away animals that need our services simply because we do not have the facilities or funding to accommodate them, for this reason the AWSS has committed to expanding our facility so that we may fully serve the needs of our community's animals.

Your support and generosity at our 60th Anniversary Celebration raised a magnamious R170 000.00. So what exactly has this fantastic amount of money achieved?

The next step:

We aren't done yet! Whilst the first stage is complete, the final stage of erecting the roof, plumbing, electrics and interior are yet to be completed. The block will provide a further 48 pups and their mothers with a comfortable, enriched and hygienic living environment, reducing the risk of puppies contracting and spreading fatal diseases such as Parvo Virus and improving their chances of rehabilitation and adoption.
