WHO ARE WE?

Here we are, four Royal Holloway students with endless creativity, a drive to create and a great story to tell - and we need your help!

Director & Writer: Kayleigh Turner

Producer: Neslihan Cabuk

Director of Photography: Manuela Jaramillo

Sound Designer: Jake Taylor

WHAT'S THE STORY?

“Pulling Strings” is our 10-minute graduate film and the heart-warming story of two siblings that are as opposite as night and day. Freddie is intelligent, awkward, and everything a teenage boy does not want to be at age 13. His 15-year-old sister, Lou, on the other hand smokes, swears and is all the way in her emo phase. Obviously, the two deeply despise each other… At least that’s how they make it seem. Things change when Freddie gets bullied at school by the new girl, Billy. News travel to Lou, who in help of her brother secretly takes matters into her own hands.

HOW ARE WE DOING IT?

Friend and sibling rivalry, bullying, new emotions – collectively these are sensations we’ve all experienced in one form or another in this weird stage of life called “puberty”. We’ve chosen to deal with these issues because they affect us all and there’s no one who can show it better than teens themselves. This is why we’ve gone to teens acting schools and cast extremely talented young individuals, who are dying to give it their all in front of the camera.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

All we need now to turn our story into reality is the funding - and that’s where you come in. Sadly, no film can be made without the necessary backers and funders. All the emotional support we get from our friends and family is absolutely priceless and we thank you so much for that, but this time we’re counting on you for your financial aid, otherwise we can’t graduate, and even worse, can’t make our film. At the end of this academic year, we will have graduated, and we have big hopes. This film will be our stepping stone into the reality of working in the film industry and we hope to enter it in festivals and competitions. The equation is simple, the more funding we can get, the more freedom we have in doing what we are best at. So we are really counting on you!

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?

The entirety of the raised funds will go into cast & crew transportation, catering, professional actors, props, hair & make up and scouting the perfect location.

To sum it up, this is what we got:    A story worth telling: check. Amazing cast: check. Ceaselessly passionate crew: double-check - all that’s missing is the necessary funding, without which our film sadly cannot be realised. For this, we are coming to you. Please, please help us fund this amazing project and we will make sure you love the result of it. Your contribution will allow us to create something great that will help us graduate. Any donation you are able to make, whether that’s small or big, we will be grateful for. We've put down some suggestions on the side so that we can send you some tokens of our appreciation and even name you in our credits in return for all your generosity. So please, get donating and you have our word - it will be worth it!
