Pugad Likha – Batanes Arts Festival 2020

Pugad Likha was conceived to bridge the young generation’s readiness and potential in art and the availability of a venue to hone their talents. That space, initially for emerging local artists, was expanded into a hive for creatives, thus the name “Pugad Likha.”

Creative Hub envisions that this art festival will bring awareness to the youth and other stakeholders about what art is about, its many forms, function, and benefit to both the individual and the society. Believing that the next generation has infinite curiosity at this season in their lives, it is best to take advantage of this opportune moment to show them what they could possibly discover through art and how they could use it to make a difference in the years ahead.

Pugad Likha aims to introduce what Creative Hub can contribute to the advancement of the community through art. By becoming known to the community, collaborations with people or organizations who share the same pursuit can be possible; therefore expanding the borders of the good Creative Hub can pass on.

As a way of paying forward to the community the positive impact we have received, Creative Hub is initiating its second arts festival entitled Pugad Likha in Batanes on April 18 - April 26, 2020. We aim to involve the youth and invest in their potentials by teaching them about art as we believe that this effort may help in preparing and inspiring them to contribute for the advancement of our nation.

Since our primary target audience for this art festival is the young generation, we seek to invigorate their interest and creativity. We intend to enable them to see, as early as now, why art is a part of a larger whole that influences, changes, and shapes the patterns of our lives, our society, and our identity as a people; at the same time, leave them a question to ponder: what part can they play?

Creative Hub Through the seasoned artists and art ambassadors who will come to Batanes during this event, participants can learn and be inspired by their stories. The takeaway, however, is not limited only to the Ivatan youth as we also hope to communicate to their parents the importance of an encouraging environment in developing their potential as artists and game-changers.

We envision a movement of empowered Filipino creatives redefining what it means to create and contributing to change our world for the better through their creativity, one step at a time
