Where one child might thrive in a traditional classroom – listening to a lecture and finishing their homework – another child might struggle. A crippling model of education that fails to cater for wide-ranging learning styles and unequipped to lead every student to their fullest potential, can leave lasting impression on a student’s personality and thus emotional well-being. Where, private school models lack appreciation of curiosity and insight, they are far from developing metacognition, self-regulation, critical thinking and other such important soft skills. My book (titled The Music, the Silence and the Noise) aims to empower teachers to appreciate varied needs of school kids by offering a Matrix that focuses on continuum of personalities. It shifts a teacher’s focus from merely achieving academic performance to instill a life-long learning.
