Like many countries in Africa, Cameroon does not have a free education system. With the majority of the people living on less than a dollar a day, so many children never go to school. This is definitely a government policy to limit the number of educated people in the country.

The past four years, I have raised money with help from friends, family and a small Texas non-profit. With these funds we were able  to bring water to over 6000 people in two schools and three villages near Fundong.

I am now on my own and I need to raise money to enroll as many children in primary and secondary school as we can afford. We must also buy the books. The cost of primary school for one child with books for one year is roughly $75. The cost for high school is $125 a student. Many of the women who are in their 30's and older in the village cannot read or write. They live in mud brick huts without water or electric, without any opportunity to improve their lives. They will never read a book or be able to earn money.

Sending kids to school is giving them a voice to speak up and an opportunity to change their lives. By sending children to school, we fight dictatorships and corruption.
