My name is Krishna and I am travelling to Uganda to participate in a volunteer program through GLOBAL VOLUNTEER NETWORK. Everyday in Uganda, long list of children are made homeless. They live without food or care because these majestic children are cruelly left homeless by the scourge of AIDS sweeping the country. 53% of all adults in Uganda have AIDS. The sad truth is that, the world community is loosing this fight. Within this despair however, the little children in the attached photograph have hope on their faces because they were saved by the work of the Ugandan counselors, a small host of volunteers and most importantly, the very generous donations of caring donors who assists the volunteers in performing this work. GLOBAL VOLUNTEER NETWORK is a non profit organisation which places volunteers in a range of community projects in loctions such as The Philippines, South Africa, Ecuador, Nepal, Kenya and Uganda.
I will be working with their local partner organisation from April 2013 for two months in the Public Health Improvement Project. I will be working five days a week in the program with two days to be involved in other activities. In this program I will be working alongside Ugandan counselors to raise awareness and promote education on health issues such as HIV, AIDS, Malaria and Nutrition, as well as basic hygiene. I will aslo be involved in designing my own seminars based upon these issues.
I am very honoured and privilaged to be given a two month opportunity of travelling to Uganda to assist as a volunteer in this humbling exercise. Voluntering on my own can be quite expensive as the trip itself is costing $5000 without other added cost of personal expenses. That is why I am asking for your help and suppot to donate with open heart as any monitory donation will help the project tremendously.
I will be keen to contact each donor to share the experience upon my return and to express my gratitude of how your donation has personally helped bring this endeavor fruition.
Kindest Regards and Thanks
