I am a U.S. Army Veteran suffering from PTSD. I am starting this page to help other Veterans with PTSD and other Service related disabilities. The idea of training service dogs actually was a joint effort between my cousin and myself. I do give her the most credit, because I am not really a "people person", and I would rather spend my days with animals. The background picture is of my personal service animal "Navajo". I did do 90% of the heavy lifting with her training after seeing that training for service dogs for VETERANS was costing from next to nothing up to TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! I honestly feel that we as Veterans have PAID in full anything that we may have been expected to give for our country. I am personally tired of others trying so hard to make money off our illnesses, our wounds, and not only our unsure minds, but our broken hearts from the promises we have had made to us and the lies that have always followed. What I am trying to do is start training Red and Blue Heelers as service dogs for my fellow veterans, be it PTSD or any other Service related disability. I am asking is that we support ALL OUR VETS, from ALL walks of life and from all theaters we have been to so you can sleep peaceful at night, regardless of the horrors that go through our minds many years later while we gave what we could for our country. Always remember "All gave some, some gave all". And I thank each and everyone that even gave a little. I am looking for ways to raise the funds for the animals, kennels, food and other supplies so that I can get this started as soon as possible. Once I figure out how this page area of Facebook works, I will get an area set up where Veterans can place themselves on a waiting list and we can get started training each dog for the service related disability required for each Veterans. Plans are to be kept to a minimum, and so that it is known, I can only make a wage of 1000.00 per month before taxes. I don't mind working with the animals, but there will be a phase where the service dog and I will need to work 1 on 1 with each veteran.
