Campaign Story
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your consideration to support me. I'll try to make this as short as I can.
At a very young age I was diagnosed with Selective Mutism. I would not talk to anyone but my parents, sister, and very few other people. I wouldn't talk to any other kids, teachers, or even most of my family members. I went to multiple therapists, but none of them were ever able to help me.
At the age of 11 is when I started to slightly open up to some people. At that point, I had developed severe Social Anxiety Disorder. I am now going into my second year of High School at age 15, and I still have very bad social anxiety. I haven't made any 'long-term' friends throughout my life because of my anxiety. If I'm put in a social situation that I'm very uncomfortable with, I will sometimes go completely mute and it will feel as if my entire body has shut down. I stopped going to therapy because it made me nervous and just miserable, but I feel that I will be more confident about going again when I have my service dog (SD). I am taking medication, although it hasn't been helping as much as I'd like.
I know a psychiatric service dog will be good for me. Not only will it perform tasks to help me, but I've also found that having a dog with me boosts my confidence. However, training an SD is very expensive and something that I can't afford, and it's very difficult for a 15 year old with anxiety to find a good job, which is why I'm starting this fundraiser to help with the expenses.
Again, thanks to all for the consideration!

Working for Trainer
Update posted by Lauren J at 09:22 pmMy service dog trainer has hired me to start working for her on weekends to pay off some of the cost of training, which is awesome! It won't pay off all of it in the end, but it will definitely make a dent. Please keep sharing, and thank you for
