Prosthetics for Young Amputees in Egypt

Our goal is to raise enough money in order to provide as many prosthetics for individuals with various disabilities such as Omar Hegazy's. This initiative aims to make the lives of young amputees easier, by giving them a chance to have a better and more athletic life. On top of that, the campaign aims to try and eliminate as many limiting factors as possible to help people reach their maximum potential by following Omar Hegazy's footsteps.

Our first case is a young man (shown in the last two pictures above), who unfortunately lost his leg in an accident:

“In the year 2006, I was exposed to a horrific accident as a result of a road collision with a large truck transporting water. I was immediately transferred to the General Hospital in Matrouh and the doctors decided to perform an immediate operation on me. The, I was transferred once more to Mustafa Kamel hospital in Alexandria at the expense of the state. A second operation was performed on me, which was the amputation of the part of my leg that is below the knee in order to maintain the knee. However, the knee did not respond nor did it work properly, therefore it had to be amputated as well. A device was placed instead and I was trained on how to operate it but it is extremely tiring and hectic”

في عام الفين وسته تعرضت لحادث اصطدام بسياره نقل مياه كبيره تم نقلي للمستشفي العام بمطروح وقرر الاطباء عمل عمليه فورية وتم عمل الازم وتم تحويلي علي مستشفي مصطفي كامل الاسكندرية علي نفقة الدولة وتم عمل عملية بتر اسفل الركبه محاولة للحفاظ علي الركبة ولكن لم تستجب الركبة وعملت عمليه اخري وتم بتر الركبه وتم صرف جهاز وتدرب علية ولكن متعب
