Prosper & Ari’s Survival Fund

Six months ago Prosper Ortega was a happy 23-year-old bride with a baby

on the way and a new husband. He appeared handsome and charming, but

that all changed in an instant. Today she lies in ICU after being beaten

by her husband for 4 days and left to die. In addition to repeatedly

beating her, her tormentor poured water in her ears, tried to poke her

eyes out, broke her ribs amd jaw, and attempted to tear out her teeth,

shredding the roof of her mouth in the process. All while her beautiful

2 week old baby boy Ari was right there helpless to do anything but

listen to his mother's screams.

She broke a window to run away

but he caught her so he tied her to the bed and cut off all her hair. He

drugged her, raped her, stabbed her and bashed her head with a bottle

then he strangled her to near death. If her mother hadn't arrived when

she did and fought him tooth and nail to get to her, Prosper would be

dead as her lungs were collapsing as she was put on the ambulance.

The

doctors are uncertain about the condition of her eyes or if she will

ever be able to see her baby again. It will require extensive medical

procedures plus months of both physical and mental therapy to even begin

for her to rebuild her life. At the same time, her baby will have to

be cared for by others, instead of his mother.

Prosper cries

whenever she wakes, not understanding why he did this to her and she

cries for her baby Ari wondering when she will be able to touch him, and

if she will ever be able to see him again.

need as much support as possible. Her and her mother's friends are

rallying as much as possible but the expenses are immense and the

journey is long.

Please help Prosper and Ari. No one deserves

this. As horrible as these photos are, domestic abuse has to be exposed

in order to ever stop it. While there are horrible photos of Prosper, I

know how hard they are too look at, so I chose one that I felt showed

how defenseless she was against her tormentor without being too

disturbing.
