A powwow is A Native American Event where they come for fellowship, song and dance. There are vendors at a pow wow that sell a variety of items that have to do with Native American Culture. Prophetstown POW WOW is held at a site where there once was a Winnebago Village, where White Cloud a Winnebago Prophet once lived, hence how Prophetstown got its name. POW WOW's are a way to show the public some of what Native Culture is and Native Americans are not just in History Books. There are a lot of expences in putting on a pow wow including insurance. food for the feast, portapotty rentals, lodging for the head staff, as well as the head staff and drums get paid for coming.
