Education inequity has managed to prevail in my country, Malaysia. And due to biasness in the economic distribution, schools in rural areas have a tendency to lag behind as compared to schools in urban areas that have proper funding and support from the government/parents etc. Always a firm believer of the fact that access to high quality education should be a right not a privilege, I decided to apply for Project Teringai, a volunteering project on home soil held at Sabah, Malaysia to inspire young kids there so that they'd have the tenacity to chase their dreams. Though this project is on for only 2 weeks, I vehemently believe that it has the potential to be life-changing. Please do take your time to through the following link for further details and past volunteers' account on the project, http://ukecharisma.com/reflections/inspire-teringai/. If you gravitate towards the cause of this program, please help me fund raise so that we, the volunteers for the project, could better provide this kids and give them a spark that could lead to their success in the long run.
