Good day,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is KellyJo McIntosh-Butler, and I live in Urban Detroit MI. I am the founder of an up and coming non-profit organization called, "Project Safe Reach". Project safe reach is dedicated to serving the local community in issues concerning public safety. Whether its safety getting somewhere, safety in the home, keeping safe from domestic violence, we are dedicated to keeping our people safe.

Today I ask you to help fund the "PROJECT SAFE PATH". Project safe path is a small effort with big rewards. We are dedicating our time and effort to making sure the children of Stewart Elementary have a "safe path" to walk on, to and from school. Abandoned houses fill the paths of these small children, daily. Many children do walk home with parents or siblings, there is alway that one that has to go it alone. "Maybe just this one time it will be o.k.". Maybe that one time is the last time they are ever seen alive. I know that sounds horrific and even harsh, but there has been more than one incident where young girls are drug into these houses and raped and killed. These houses are used for drug dealings, pit-bull dog fighting, disposing of dead bodies, packs of wild dogs camp out in these houses just waiting for a stranger to walk by for a possible attack. This is no joke! These houses need to be boarded up immediately! This is a harsh reality, and It even seems our local and state governments do not care enough about our inner-city community's. That is why 'We The People" must take a stand, and take care of what we can, when we can, on our own. This is very important to me. I believe in this project. I put my faith in it, and that it will help create a safer environment for the entire community. Even if it only saves one life, detours one rape, haven't we reached success? I am so disgruntled when I hear people say about the people that live in these community's, "move away then if you don't feel safe", "you must be dumb to live there", or maybe you will even hear those wretched words, "it's only Black People who live there". The truth is, it's never ONLY black people who live there, or only people of any particular race who live in just one area. This is america, we have many faces of color here, and we are equally beautiful. Not to mention, a lot of people, myself included, CHOOSE to live here in these communitys. We choose to grow old here. We choose to raise our children here. Our freinds and family's are here. Some live in generational houses of their grandparents. These homes are very big and very beutiful. There is no reason for any one to ignore such great potential that lays in these inner city districts.

That's why I have come to you, my friends, old and new. I need your help reaching my goal, helping others stay safe, and making life just a little bit more better for us all, by reducing danger of urban blight! If everyone who reads this will donate just one dollar, the needs of "Project Safe Path", will be fulfilled. $4000 will cover the cost of plywood, labor, and the investment into one community. We will take this by inch, and maybe others will join in on the efforts. If not, we will continue to raise money, and board these houses up! Will you please join us, with a small donation? We thank each and every one of you who has taken time out to read this article today. If you can not donate money, than you can still help by sharing this, or spreading the word to others who maybe can help us too. Thank you in advance. May God Bless us ALL!!!! Peace!
