Project Romans 8:19

For almost 10 years, Patricia Vouga and other volunteers have been supporting needy families in the brazil, rio de janeiro state *, rio de janeiro city, 3751 Av. Dom Helder Camara in del castilho (bandeira2).

However, 5 years ago, she began Project Romans 8:19 after recognizing that a large number of homeless children (with parents who are addicted to drugs) were not getting the help that they needed physically and spiritually. Through this project, Patricia and a number of volunteers work with approximately 72 children (in addition to their relatives and some homeless people in the area). The primary goal of Project Romans 8:19 is to supply these children with the food and supplies that they desperately need so that they will stay off of drugs, avoid crime, and follow God.

We are asking for donations that will go towards purchasing food, clothing, and supplies that will be distributed to the children of this community with the most need. Here are the components of our project:

1. Donations are used to purchase food, clothing, and supplies specifically for a group of approximately 72 children (as well as some of their parents and local homeless) near and around the following location in rio de janerio city, 3751 Av. Dom Helder Camara in del castilho (bandeira2)

2. Currently, our food is provided by donations locally and can be very inconsistent. The funds from this campaign will be used to purchase basic food supplies from local stores. Our daily food and supply cost is approximately $300 per day (includes lunch/breakfast, clothing, and supplies for the children). Due to difficulties raising regular money/funds, Project Romans 8:19 can usually only provide food/supplies 2 to 3 days per week. Typically, we are able to provide meals for the children on Thursdays and breakfast on Saturdays.

3. We would like to eventually have enough resources to able to feed the children of this community breakfast and lunch 5 days per week.

In order to do this, your funds will be also used to build kitchen. The kitchen will allow us to cook and properly store food. Currently, we have to prepare meals in various homes (based on availability) and there is no place to store our food.

Cost breakdown:

$300 day (cost of meals and supplies per day for about 72-100 children per day)

$1500 for 1 week (cost to provide five meals [breakfast and lunch] to the children of this community 5 days per week)

$ 6000 for 1 month (cost to provide five meals [breakfast and lunch] to the children of this community 5 days per week for 4 weeks each month)
