Project Regalo (you can donate any amount that you can afford for as little as $1 or however much you would like to give) The orphans will truly appreciate your help.

Our family recently discovered an orphanage for special children in the Philippines. Since we are going to the Philippines this Christmas, we thought it would be a wonderful thing to help them out. As I am working to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout and have been contemplating what to do for an Eagle Project, I thought that we could really do even more to truly help this orphanage. My Eagle Project is to provide the following for the St. Joseph’s Home for God’s Special Children:

Gift bags for each child, which we will personally deliver on Christmas day
Hygiene and dental kits
Basic medical supplies
School supplies
Toys
Clothes

In addition to the items above, a local church and scout group will help organize the gift bag items and put them in hand-sewn personalized drawstring backpacks for each child. In the Philippines, I am working with two groups, one that will be caroling and one that will be serving food. These will also be on Christmas Day. Since our goal is for all of the donations to directly benefit the orphanage, we will only be bringing some of the items with us, so as not to spend any funds on excess luggage or shipping fees. We will buy the rest of the items locally in the Philippines. Below are the two ways that you can help:

Gofundme.com website – Monetary donation used to buy medical supplies, school supplies, toys, clothes and, if we exceed our goal, bed mattresses, a computer, internet access and other needed items will also be provided. We are hoping to raise this fund by December 18.

Ivolunteer.com website at http://projectregalo.ivolunteer.com/regalo
(for locals only click the link to sign up)– Teddy Bears, Dolls, Balls, Children’s Books, Snow Globes
(these itmes will be organized in gift bags by the youth of our church)
