Project Pete: Extend a Hand, Extend a Life

Last August 05, 2021, our 74-year-old Tatay (this is how we call our grandfather), Pedrito "Pete" Botor, had undergone Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Surgery at the Philippine Heart Center. He's still being closely monitored at the ICU for 3 weeks now due to complications after his surgery. After his AAA surgery, he had 3 additional surgeries because of internal bleeding and blood clots. He has kidney impairment which requires him to do dialysis almost everyday. He also developed infections in his lungs or Pneumonia.

A month ago, our family got together virtually to talk about our Tatay's then upcoming Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Surgery. We all knew that we had to come together as a family to prepare and pray for our Tatay. By God's grace and provision, each of us was able to pledge financially and helped our Tatay fund the surgery package the doctors offered.

But no matter how much we thought we have prepared ourselves for this, it is a time we know we can't have full control of. Due to additional medical procedures, costly medicines, and extended hospital stay, our medical bills have been accumulating and is now over PHP1,430,020.67 as of today, August 23, 2021.
