Greetings!
We are students from the College of Commerce and Business Administration of the University of Santo Tomas, currently enrolled in the course Project Development Management wherein the major requirement is designing and implementing a full-scale community-based project.
We at the PlaySpace Foundation would like to invite you to become one of our Participatory Partners for our upcoming Larong Ligaya Project at San Agustin I, Dasmariñas, Cavite - Sitio Ipilan this coming April. Larong Ligaya Project aims to provide passive and active recreational activities by building a playground, we believe that this project serves as an avenue for children to gain opportunities for them to engage in appropriate developmental plays.
Recreational space plays a vital role in the development of children in a community, one of which is the playgrounds; Playgrounds can help children’s multi-sensory experiences that builds specific developmental skills like sensory, motor, strength and cognitive. It can also improve their social skills by sharing fairly with other children, playing cooperatively and collaborating as part of the group. It can provide a great opportunity for parents to bond with their children in a physical engagement. Additionally, it also creates a relaxed space where residents of the community can connect and interact with each other which develops relationships and a sense of belongingness in the community.
Sitio Ipilan does not have a playground in their community. Due to this, several children travel by foot for almost half an hour to visit a playground in the nearby village namely, Manuela Village. Their trip to the said playground exposes them to several dangers along the way. Also, the lack of playground in the community causes children to improvise using scrapped materials. For instance, the makeshift swings made of ropes on trees can bring a lot of hazards to children, especially when they are left unattended.
We all hope that we can bring smile and joy to the Kids of Sitio Ipilan. Thank you and God Bless :)
