Project Kasi Nyanga … Lollo turns 50 and would like you to donate towards the Kids of Project Kasi

On June 25th it’s the big 50 , ( yes I have been an annoying biatch for that long )

Pre- lockdown I had so many ideas on how and where I was going to celebrate it .

Obviously the last 65 days have changed all that .

Perspectives have changed and everyones situation too .

Never mind that we cannot all be together hugging each other and being with loved ones .

It just does not feel right to be celebrating while a lot of people are struggling with making ends meet , and a lot of people cannot even put food on their table every evening .

I have decided that this year I would like to raise funds for a project that is close to my heart because it’s run by my brother from another mother and father , Luca Pantani whom a lot of you may know from The Cousins restaurant , surfing , and kiting circles

This project is called Project Kasi , and it takes places in Nyanga

What is P.K ? Project Kasi uses skateboarding as a tool to engage with the youth and to keep them out of trouble’s way in Nyanga. Kids tend to get hooked up in the negative energy if they are not well equipped with the right skills and qualities to overcome day to day challenges they face at and the community at large. Through skateboarding we teach them how to defeat the challenges that cross their path such as substance abuse, crime and gang related issues.

My Aim is to raise 10000 Rand ( more would be nice ) , so that while still in lockdown , the kids and their families continue to receive support in the form of food parcels , and when they eventually get back to the school and can skate , we can buy more safety gear , new boards , etc .

This provides a safe environment for the kids , it keeps them off the street and as lot of them have no father figure , and are often left alone while mom works Theo and Luca have become their little beacon of hope .

My wish is to reach this target and be able to make the kids life a little better in these seriously trying times .

We have taken so much for granted for way too long , we wake up every morning and we are warm , we have food and a roof over our heads . If you can spare even just 10 rand , please consider being part of this 50th birthday celebration .
