Project K: Road to VFW 2018

Hi there! My name is Krizia Jimenez. I have been involved with the Art and Fashion industry for a long time now and as a creative I’ve broadened my passion by working across the disciplines of advertising and graphic design, traditional art, production design, garment and accessories design. I’ve always created in hope that someone out there would appreciate and connect with the same colors I represent.

As you all know, the design industry is very vast and one would need to go through years of immense learning and challenges in order to succeed or make a name out for yourself. The design industry is straining, demanding and sometimes full of tears, but at the end of the day I love what I do. It has always been a dream of mine to communicate with people by creating works of art that intertwine concepts and are visually ambitious while also finding beauty in the unexpected. I’ve currently been given the opportunity to showcase my talent.

I was recently selected and invited to join the Vancouver Fashion week this coming March 2018. The VFW has been offering designers a platform to present their talents to a wide audience internationally. They have also been up to date with styles and skills that I feel passionate to take part and learn from. Not only did this intrigue me, but also the fact that it is a new creative environment, which fascinated me because it’s not every day you get hand selected to participate and it would be such an honor to represent my country, and have the opportunity to showcase, learn and better understand the Fashion industry abroad. Although given this tremendous opportunity, I’m unfortunately faced with a few setbacks. In order for me to pursue this opening, I would have to pay a fee and create new pieces to showcase.

I would greatly appreciate any donation you could make. The amount you provide is completely up to you. I need to try to raise money that will help with the fee plus tax, materials and possibly my air fare. The support and contribution that you will offer will give start-up designers like me and the Philippine Fashion Industry a chance to fulfil our dreams of creating pieces that could speak to people locally and internationally.
