PROJECT K.W.D: Help us tell the story of 1000 orphans.

" what do you want to be when you grow up ??....(silence,smiles,chuckles, some thinking maybe,.. followed by generic answers like I'm gonna be a doctor,a nurse, a pilot,a teacher....)

Sounds familiar right??

I believe most of us had that moment in our childhood, where our parents,siblings or teachers would ask us that question,...

WHY did I remind you about that incident?

BECAUSE I'm about to share with you a part of the story of my life, that i don't share with most people.

BUT First some intro', My name is Ansbert Oscar, a 21 years old photographer,videographer and Filmmmaker from Tanzania.

LET'S GET TO THAT PART : First I lost my dad at age 3, I could barely remember him or the cause of his death, at 9 years old , my mother also died at the hospital as well. I still remember how much i cried , how much pain i felt during that time. I felt my whole life was shattered to pieces, like i've lost everything...all my dreams and hopes about life faded away.

I moved to my uncle's house in 2007, and Even after the mourning period was over,and i got back to school, i still cried everyday for more than 3 months, ...I couldn't bear the luggage of being an orphan, it was too much for me.

BUT since there's sun rising after dawn, through love and care I received from my uncle and aunt,my other relatives, friends ..my hopes and dreams were slowly restored, I WAS ABLE TO DREAM AGAIN, TO HAVE HOPES ABOUT MY FUTURE.

I finished school,went to college and now am starting my career as a photographer,videographer and filmmaker.

i haven't made it yet, but at least I see the yellow brick road, am walking down that road ...full of dreams, believing IT'S POSSIBLE.

My life story and my passion have led to birth of this campaign, this project i called PROJECT K.W.D (Kids with Dreams).

THE PROJECT IS ABOUT inspiring the children (orphans specifically) to dream, to have hopes about their future, despite all the obstacles life will throw at them.

HOW??

By taking a picture of each kid (1000 orphans is a target) wearing the prop clothes of his dream career, or showcasing hs/her talent.

i believe each kid growing up while seeing his/her picture as somebody ( doctor,nurse,teacher,engineer,astronaut,singer..) ..is one of the best gifts they can be given, it's like giving them a compass,a treasure map, a direction to the north star OR the yellow brick road.

Then we will shoot a documentary covering the story of each kid involved, the past,the present and the future they're hoping for.

WHY WE ASK YOU TO HELP FUND THIS CAMPAIGN.

Because we believe together we can change the world, in some big ways and in some small ways as well.

Me and my team of 3 ( Jay, Michael and Lucy) will travel to 5 cities across Tanzania , where we will conduct this project, and we ask for your help so that we can cover the following costs.

- TRANSPORT fares

- ACCOMODATION for the days we will stay

- AIDS to the orphanage centers (books,food,clothes)

- BUYING CAREER PROPS Like lab coats, overalls, suits etc FOR KIDS to wear during photo session

W e already have a DSLR CAMERA, a microphone and tripod stand to cover most of what we envision to do. Although any support in gear will be highly appreciated as well.

We insist you donate whatever feels right for you, every dollar can help make a difference...it can inspire and foster a new generation.
