This May I am going to be volunteering as an English teacher with Project Hope, a Canadian/Palestinian NGO in Nablus which is located in the West Bank. As a volunteer I will be teaching English to children and housewives in refugee camps and nearby villages in addition to university students at Project Hope's education center. Project Hope is the largest provider of free English classes in the West Bank. Their work is extremely important as fluency in a second language can open doors in higher education as well as in business. To learn more about the organization you can clink on the link below.
As a volunteer, I will live in Project Hope's International Volunteer House in Nablus. To help offset these costs, to aid in sustaining the free English classes, and to support buying new materials for the classes each volunteer is asked to make a contribution to Project Hope. Although volunteer's are only asked to donate $300, I am hoping to raise much more for this great cause. Any additional money raised will go towards buying books and art supplies for the children enrolled in Project Hope's English classes, along with helping to support Project Hope's Internet Cafe.
If you are able to donate, even a little bit, I would greatly appreciate it!
