Project Herstory My name is Elizabeth and I am a published author and writer. I also have Lupus. The two may not seem like they have much in common other than with an Auto-Immune Disease the side affects change daily and weekly. I have found that being self employed or being a writer working from home seems to work the best becasue each day can be a challenge to even walk sometimes. I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2001 after my second son but the tests were vague and it took 7 more years and two more children before it was confirmed that I had SLE. I almost died after having my fourth child in 2007 because he was a C-section and my body did not recover well. I am writing this story and request becasue I am struggling financially to even have money to put gas in the car today. I do not receive child support as much as I would love that and Social Security Disability wants to see that one of my organs is failing before I qualify. Cash Aid is not enough to cover my rent and bills. My goal is to create an on-line magazine for women globally. I used to write for an on-line politocal newspaper but they moved on to other ventures. I write about many topics that passionately capture my attention when the media has given up on them. The young girls enslaved into sex slavery or women fighting for education with the desire to just read something as simple as a book. I want to make a difference even if I cannot fly to those countries and do so myself. Bringing global issues to a local level of awareness. It will take marketing and purchasing of domain names and website builders. Blogs are free but getting yourself out there on google for ad-works is not. I am currently facing health challenges that only motivate me to inspire others. I truly hope that you will feel inspired as well. I am a hard worker but just seem to slip between the cracks as a single mom. I would like to share my story and plant one little seedling in hope it will flourish into lush fields of knowledge.
