I am taking on a volunteer service trip to Guatamala this summer. As some of you may know I have been involved in Emergency Medical Services for the past 5 years with my primary focus being in the pre-hospital setting.
We are fortunate to live in a place where we know our loved ones have accessible access to healthcare in case an emergency were to happen. Unfortunately this is not the reality across the globe.
Through Hearts In Motion (heartsinmotion.org) firefighters and paramedics have the opportunity to spend time with first responders overseas and help them better prepare to provide essential service to their communities. A lot of these people are volunteers with no formal training but a desire to help others. With our help, these men and woman can help reduce the unnecessary loss of life, limb and property.
I am asking for help in raising funds for this trip to help pay for airfare, lodging and transportation. Who knew flying to another country for an extended stay is not cheap! Anyway, if any of you or your loved ones have had a medical emergency or have been injured and benefited from pre-hospital emergency services and would like to pay it forward, please do so. Any amount is appreciated. But I don’t discriminate! If you have been fortunate enough to have never seen an ambulance but would like to help anyway you can do that too J
Thank you all,
