Hi! My name is Rachel and I am 25 years old. I married my husband, Kyle, on June 22, 2012. Our marriage is pretty much perfect; only one thing is standing in the way-- my health. Since I was 18 I have been battling with migraine headaches. I went to several different doctors and neurologists throughout the years, and I tried every medication formulated for migraine headaches. Nothing worked to get rid of or even prevent these horrible things, and I was left suffering until they went away on their own or until someone took me to the ER. Over the years my migraines have gotten worse and still no medication gets rid of the pain. Sometimes I am bed-ridden for days all because of a migraine. I've had to drop several classes and it has affected my job as well. About a year ago, I started to get severe congestion in my sinuses. I went to see a specialist and he tested for fungus and bacteria and put me on antibiotics, which did not correct the problem. By then, my sinuses were so bad I could not even breathe through my nose. Keep in mind, I was getting even worse migraines because of all the pressure built up. I basically dealt with these issues through all of my wedding planning and even on my wedding day and throughout the honeymoon. Kyle and I honeymooned in France and Italy (thanks to his mom), which should have been an amazing trip. I was super sick the entire time. I must have tried every natural medicine out there for allergies and sinus congestion. I even saw a French doctor to get some other types of medication. I went through so many boxes of Kleenex and tons of Benadryl to help me sleep. Finally, 3/4 through the trip, I started to blow all of the infection out of my nose and by the time I got home to the states(2.5 weeks later), I could breathe through my nose. I still had a lot of congestion and a pretty continuous migraine headache. I pretty much have been dealing with this since then, and it is now January. I can breathe through my nose, but hardly and I have been getting migraines a few times a week. Now that I am married I do not have insurance. My husband was diagnosed with mono and I got really sick at the beginning of December. Kyle took me to the ER, where they ran a bunch of tests and sent me home with antibiotics and some painkillers. A couple weeks after that I went to urgent care and was diagnosed with Strep throat and a double ear infection. I was given more antibiotics. I then got my hospital bill which totaled $7000. Because of my ongoing illness I was taken off the schedule at my work, so I have no way of paying back my bill. My husband works, but only part time and we have a ton of other bills to take care of. I am in search of a job currently, but most of the time I am too sick to get out of bed. I am searching for help in every way I can to help pay off these medical expenses and to seek treatment for whatever illness is going on. I take vitamins and allergy medication daily. I am only 25 and I haven't been healthy since I was 18. I would love to enjoy my new marriage and become healthy again!
