Project Fury Story Video

     Hello. My name is Jory R. Ferrell and I am a indie game dev. I am creating my very first major 2D RPG videogame. The RPG, a psychological drama, set in a ancient european-type setting, centers around a woman who loses her husband in a war against invading barbarian hordes. She eventually joins a guerilla warfare group which helps carry out attacks against the barbarians in an attempt to drive them from the kingdom. It will have a very Joan-Of-Arc feel to it, and explore the kind of leadership and strength female characters don't typically display in video games.

     Videogames are, as you may know, extremely expensive to produce, and I cannot afford to make it happen alone. I have so far gathered a team of over 60+ artists who will handle concept and pixel art for the game. However, I cannot pay them just yet. Before I can afford the roughly 350,000 needed to pay all the artists and sound engineers, I actually intend to do a KickStarter campaign to raise the necessary money. However, Kick Starter campaigns themselves need to have polish before they stand any hope of being succesful.

     Basically, I need a quality animated video to explain the storyline of my game. It would cost $500 USD to pay for the animator I have chosen (Ken Addeh out of England), to create a short, 10 minute papermotion video.                                                      

$200.00 would help to pay for a artist from Freelance.com to create our custom, gritty, minimalist webpage, from which we will perform updates about our projects progress, give detailed bio's about every artist involved in the project, and many other interesting caveats and details about the game. Any money over the threshold requirement would go towards incorporating my start-up business, and trademarking (internationally) our logo and studio name, as well as the videogames name (each day we run the risk someone else will coincidentally trademark my games name for their own product! ) so my team is a full-fledged game dev studio, and my games intellectual property rights are secure.

     Your support in helping share my vision for my game, and push me one step closer to my goal of being a game developer, will be appreciated to no end!

 

REWARDS:            

     If you support our project with any amount starting at $1.00 US, your name will go in the credits of the animated video, in a special "Donors" page on the website, as well as the videogame itself (if it is successfully funded on KickStarter). You will also receive a copy of the video via email.

     At a donation of $6.00 US, you will receive a copy of the game, again if it's successfully funded on KickStarter.

STRETCH GOALS:                

     *PLEASE NOTE* All stretch goal rewards are NOT dependant on a successful KickStarter campaign. YOU WILL receive the stretch goal rewards regardless of whether the game can ever be made.                                                                                                                             

     If we receive $2500 (more than we need for the video, and website), we would be able to incorporate our business, tradmark our logo, trademark the name of our game and it's logo (so no one can steal the unique title before we can protect it legally), and possibly copyright the storyline.

     Also, for every donor who has contributed more than $6.00 US, when we reach the $2500 goal, you will receive a custom 6"x 3" vinyl prototype sticker (produced by StickerMule.com). These are intended to be examples of a kickstarter reward. Our concept artist has created a the following rough design for the sticker:

     Needless to say, she is a talented artist! You should definitely stop by her page and let her know her work is one of a kind!

     A total of $4500 US would allow us to create prototype replicas of the currency in our game. The coins would be produced by CoinsForAnything.com, and have an antique silver finish and be 2" diameter. If we reach the $4500 goal, donors who contribute more than $20.00 US will receive one of these replica coins. These will also be used as samples of our KickStarter rewards.

     A total of $6000 US would allow us to have the gold version of the currency made. This will be at least 2" to 2.5" in diameter. Any donors who contribute $40 dollars or more would receive 1 gold coin, and 1 silver coin.            

     A total of $7500 US will allow us to create the duo-tone, shiny gold and silver coin, in a 3"x2" format. These coins will represent the highest currency in the game. All donors who have contributed $75.00 US will receive 1Gold/Silver coin, 1 antique Gold coin, 1 antique silver coin, and 1 vinyl sticker.                                                                                                                                            All rewards would be received at least 2 months from now. We need to allow time to finish the sticker design, design and manufacture the coins, and

 

     A total of $10,000 would allow us to create a very polished demo of our game. I currently have a core game engine programmed in python. However, it does not look very professional as my art skills are lacking. I have commissioned 3 artists who will be creating work for this project:

     Khanh Vung - Currently a GameLoft employee in the Vietnam branch. He has worked in this position for 2 years to date, and has completed work on 2d pixel art games like Prince of Persia classic, and Wrath of Titans. I am extremely proud to have the chance to work with him! After the KickStarter campaign, he would primarily be working on the user interface.
